About the Journal

InTensions is an interdisciplinary peer reviewed e-journal published out of School of Arts, Media, Performance, and Design at York University. This initiative brings together interventions by scholars and artists whose work deals with the theatricality of power, corporealities of structural violence, and sensory regimes.

InTensions has discontinued publishing. This site is now maintained by York University Libraries (YUL) for the purpose of preservation and ongoing access.

YUL has staged images and multimedia works originally published in InTensions for preservation, resulting in a different presentation than their initial publication. Image galleries have been transformed into PDF galleys. Multimedia works - where locally hosted on the InTensions website - have been preserved in the York University Digital Library and are embedded here as HTML galleys.
